I enjoy offering EMDR Consultation to share my clinical experience using EMDR with children, adolescents, and adults in my private practice in Lexington, KY. I integrate EMDR with many modalities including play therapy, sand tray, clinical hypnosis, DBT, and expressive arts. I am trained in the standard protocol and integrative model of EMDR along with various specialty protocols. I have specialty training with children/adolescents, attachment, dissociation, obsessive compulsive disorder, and borderline personality disorder.
EMDRIA states, “Consultation is a collaborative relationship between mental health clinicians in which the consultant reviews the consultee’s EMDR client case material and provides feedback to the consultee regarding their use of standard EMDR therapy with clients. The consultation is expected to be consultee-centered which means the focus is on the skills and knowledge of the consultee’s use of standard EMDR therapy with clients. The consultation should be structured in format and consultees are expected to provide examples of their clinical work as part of the consultation process. This may include video recordings, audio recordings, near verbatim transcripts, and/or EMDR case presentation forms. The consultant is expected to review and evaluate the consultee’s work as part of the consultation process.
Cost of Individual EMDR Consultation: $95 per consultation hour (55-60” minutes). Group consultation is split between participants.
Bundles: Individual and Group for your agency is negotiable.
Cost can be split between the consultees as outlined above. If you schedule a dyad consultation hour expecting to split the cost but the other consultee does not show, you are expected to pay the entire hour amount, and the entire time will be considered individual consultation.
More information can be found in the EMDRIA Consultation packet information at https://www.emdria.org/resource/emdria-consultation-packet/
Individual EMDR Consultation is considered 1:1 (Consultant: Consultee). If you decide to share the consultation with someone, 30 minutes will be individual and 30 minutes will be considered group consultation.
Group EMDR Consultation is considered two or more consultees based on the scheduled time frame.
The guidelines are outlined by EMDRIA as follows:
“Group consultation includes at least two consultees in a formalized setting which is led by a consultant in a structured group format. All consultees in the group are expected to participate and be prepared to bring their own EMDR case presentation material content for discussion. As a general guideline, groups should allow a ratio of 15 minutes per individual participant…
EMDRIA Certification consultation – Group consultation size for certification cannot exceed 8 consultees (1:8). When group time is not equally divided among consultees, each participant is expected to present case material, so that all consultees in the group both demonstrate and observe their peer’s demonstration of proficiency and fidelity to the standard EMDR therapy. Consultees in this setting should also be able to demonstrate an awareness of situations in which modifications to standard EMDR therapy are necessary in order to safely and effectively treat the client.”
