EMDR Intensive Sessions with Janet Vessels are blocks of 3-4 hours for multiple days in a row to alleviate the need to extend the process of trauma resolution and/or move through the bothersome event quickly without returning weekly/biweekly. There is less time spent re-orienting, less need for use of resources between sessions, and an increased for on healing.
EMDR Intensive Sessions are NOT approved yet for any insurance although Janet is in-network with most insurance plans. However, you MAY use your HSA account or Care Credit to ensure get the care you need.
Janet is trained in offering EMDR Intensives with an initial one hour visit, billable to insurance, if needed.
Step 1: One hour session for intake and client history.
Step 2: Scheduling intensive sessions ranging from 3-4 hours in a morning and/or afternoon blocks for several days in a row (Thursday-Saturday or Monday-Wednesday).
Step 3: The first intensive session block will cover the review of client history, preparation/resourcing, and target sequencing planning or choosing a target for EMDR processing and closure.
Step 4: The second session block may include EMDR processing including using dual attention stimulation through the method chosen (eye movement, tactile/mechanical tapping, auditory/sound or movement) to allow the brain to bring up the bothersome experience, and potential for resolution of the target from the past, present and future perspective. Closure will be used at the end of each day.
Step 5: The third session block begins with a re-evaluation to find out where the client is now, and how to proceed. EMDR processing may continue from the previous session, if needed or continue to the next phase of positive installation of the adaptive belief and/or another target.
Step 6: Fourth-Sixth session blocks will proceed until the original target, and any past, present, and future targets are reprocessed AND successful resolution of the bothersome experience (memories).
